CAR ENTHUSIAST Test Drive Review 02/27/2009

Take Note for 2009.

We had our first look at the 2009 Nissan Note at the Paris Motor Show in September. Along with updating the styling, interior trim and a new navigation and entertainment system, the improvements will be accompanied by a price reduction when the Note goes on sale in January.

The new Note comes in three trim levels: Visia, Acenta and Tekna. Changes to the colour and design of the upholstery give each grade its own feel. The Visia has electric front windows, four airbags and a tilt-adjustable steering wheel. Upgrade to Acenta specification and rear electric windows, curtain airbags and a leather covered steering wheel are added. The top model also puts part-leather trim on the seats a sports steering wheel and Nissan's new Connect navigation and entertainment system.

WHATCAR? Test Drive Review 02/27/2009

In the Note Hatchback range you can choose between 8 models - 5 petrol engines and 3 diesels .

FOR: The Note has a spacious and thoughtfully designed interior and is good to drive. AGAINST: It's a bit pricey compared to most superminis and the low-speed ride is firm.

WHATCAR? Test Drive Review 11/26/2010

Nissan Note Hatchback full 9 point review.

Performance

Choose from 1.4- and 1.6-litre petrol engines, or a 1.5-litre turbodiesel. The 1.4 is sprightly around town and never feels out of its depth on faster roads, while the bigger petrol unit offers a noticeable step up in pace. The sweet-driving diesel copes more easily with everyday driving than the 1.4 petrol.

Rise & Handling

The Note's narrow body and light steering make it easy to drive in town, and you get useful feedback through the wheel at higher speeds. Firm suspension adds to the fun, giving it decent composure through bends. However, you don't pay for this with an uncompromising ride – it can thump over urban potholes, but is generally pretty forgiving.

AUTO EXPRESS N-Tec Model Test Drive Review 01/21/2011

Does recent revamp take former class champion back to the top?

The Juke crossover proves Nissan isn’t afraid to let its designers get bold. The British-built Note isn’t as daring, but four years after launch, it still looks the part.

A recent mid-life update brought some minor changes to the detailing, yet thanks to its wheel-at-each-corner stance and well proportioned shape, the car looks just as up to date as its younger rivals in this test.

The cabin hasn’t changed much, either, although it wasn’t in need of a major overhaul. While the dash design isn’t exciting, it’s straightforward and the whole interior feels solidly put together.

Material quality is also decent. A lidded cubby houses the Aux-in and USB sockets – so unlike in the other two cars, you can keep your MP3 player out of sight – and the underseat stowage area is another neat touch.

AUTO EXPRESS N-Tec Model Test Drive Review 02/22/2011

Tweaks aim to keep practical star on top.

It’s time to play spot the difference! Nissan has taken a ‘less is more’ approach to updating its Note for 2011 – but can a few subtle changes boost the talented supermini-MPV’s appeal? Auto Express got behind the wheel to find out.

The updates focus on improving the Note’s already cute and inoffensive styling. And while the model isn’t as striking as the Juke, the addition of blacked-out B and C-pillars, new inserts in the front spoiler, a Magnetic Red paintjob and chunky 16-inch alloys ensures it still catches the eye.

Inside, the n-tec model we drove gets more equipment then ever. Nissan has added climate control and automatic headlights and wipers to the standard kit list. And this was already quite generous, with luxuries such as sat-nav and a huge refrigerated glovebox.

The fit and finish of the dashboard and major switches are top-notch, and reassuringly solid to the touch. Despite this, list prices remain unchanged, so all of the above is yours for a great-value £12,795.

BUSINESS CAR Test Drive Review 05/04/2011

Nissan Note: One Minute Test Drive Review.

What’s new: A model-year revision has seen subtle design tweaks and increased spec for Nissan’s supermini-MPV, while prices remain the same.

Excellent: The standard equipment for below £14,000 is astounding, with satnav, climate control, Bluetooth, privacy glass, cruise control, auto lights and wipers, alloys and ESP anti-skid control all coming as part of the deal.

Good: Interior quality and space is impressive, and given the Note’s high roofline it’s no surprise that there’s plenty of headroom. The Note is also well priced regardless of the excellent standard kit levels.

AUTO EXPRESS 1.5 dCi N-TEC+ Test Drive Review 03/01/2012

Nissan has boosted equipment and refreshed the interior of its practical Note mini-MPV

With all the fuss surrounding Nissan’s crossover models, you could easily forget the Note. Since it was launched in 2006, it has always been a practical choice and one of the first (and best) supermini-MPVs. But with a replacement due next year, this final facelift of the current car could be worth a look. We drove the 1.5 dCi in top N-TEC+ spec.

Space has always been the Note’s strongest point. Rear head and legroom would be generous in the class above. The back seats slide, split and fold, which means the boot provides load space ranging from 280 litres to 1,322 litres with the seats flat. That’s around 200 litres more than the Ford Focus or VW Golf.

The boot is versatile, too, with the floor panels lifting to reveal a sizeable underfloor compartment. Removing these and slotting them vertically splits the boot floor to hold luggage in place.
